Men and Women are different.
Surprised? Probably not. Yet many parts of our culture today try to promote the idea of sameness between men and women – unisex. We are indeed equals in salvation, in rights, and in potential – but we are not the same. Besides physical differences, men and women tend to think, feel, and communicate very differently from one another.
At His House, we’re celebrating our uniqueness as men. God calls men to be men, not to be “unisex”, nor to be the passive imbecile you see in TV commercials and sitcoms.
We have four main men’s ministries:
Men’s Fraternity - to develop deep bonds and spiritual growth as we participate in the “Quest for Authentic Manhood” program. We highly recommend this for every man involved in His House – and even all of campus! It’s an amazing, dynamic, 2-semester curriculum for men of all backgrounds. Discover what God calls men to be, as we take a look at our past and present, then build a vision for the future. Any man who completes this curriculum will know without doubt that he’s graduated from boyhood to become a real man. (Click for more.)
Guys’ Night - to build strong bonds between the men of His House and outreach to other men. The guys in our ministry should have deep friendships with one another, not just know each other through the girls. We do this through having a weekly guy-bonding activity – whether a playing a sport, cards, or video games; watching a man-movie; going on an adventure; etc. The focus is fellowship-building, so don’t be afraid of trying new things. For the 2012-2013 school year, contact our intern, Nate Ewald, for more info.
The growth, life-change, and relationship-building God desires for each of us generally happens outside of large-group weekly worship services. So that is why we encourage your involvement in activities like these (as well as other, co-ed events).
